Matthew Brookes was born in Sheffield, England and grew up in South Africa. He traveled extensively as a young, self-taught photographer, finally settling in Paris. Globe-trotting continues to fuel his work, where he gets his inspiration from everyday life and his interactions with others. Matthew’s attitude towards photography in general is to keep things as natural as possible, capturing the emotion and spirit of the person or people he is photographing. Matthew has shot advertising campaigns for Cartier, Burberry Black Label, Shiseido, Louis Vuitton, Banana Republic, Davidoff, Paco Rabanne, Zegna, Tommy Hilfiger, Kenneth Cole, Bergdorf-Goodman, Express and J.Crew. He collaborates with the worlds’ most illustrious magazines, including Interview, Vogue, Vanity Fair, the New York Times (T Magazine), GQ, V, Numero Hommes and Vogue Hommes International. He currently resides between NY and Paris.
