His simple and no nonsense portraits seem reflective of his life’s experiences - prior to being a photographer, he served in HM Royal Navy before working as a Prison Officer in Scotland’s most notorious Prison HMP Barlinnie. His highly successful Deutsche Bank-sponsored "EGO" Exhibition in Cork St, London was the subject of a 30 minute BBC documentary and was described as "Beautiful, calm portraiture, a true rarity" and private collections of his work are currently exhibited worldwide at such places as, The National Portrait Gallery, London & The Glasgow Museum of Modern Art and Deutsche Bank.
